PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form the front end of a conductor in a prescribed shape and, at the same time, to fix the front end to a core at the time of forming the conductor in a coil-like shape by winding the conductor around the core. SOLUTION: A core has first and second split pieces 38 and 40. The main bodies 52 and 56 of the pieces 38 and 40 become nearly the same shape as that of a core around which a coil is wound when they are united in one body. The flanges 54 and 58 of the pieces 38 and 40 have openings 64 and 70 for accepting the head sections of the main bodies 52 and 56 of the other pieces 40 and 38 and the flange 54 of the first piece 38 has a notch 68 for connecting the opening 64 to the outside. The main body 56 of the second piece 40, in addition, has a bent projection 72. In the process of uniting the pieces 38 and 40 in one body after laying a conductor 10 along the notch 68, the projection 72 presses the conductor 10 to bend the front end of the conductor 10 downward at the position of a bent step 66 provided to the flange 54 of the first piece 38. Then a coil is formed by winding the conductor 10 around the main bodies 52 and 56 while the front end of the conductor 10 is secured by means of the projection 72 and step 66. |
