摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prolong the charging/discharging cycle life of a battery by suppressing the deterioration of electrodes by setting a constant charging voltage at a low value and gradually raising the value of the constant charging voltage as the number of charging times increases. SOLUTION: A battery group 4 composed of lithium batteries using an organic electrolyte is charged for a prescribed period of time by a constant-current constant-voltage method. At charging of the group 4, a voltage measuring circuit 5 and a charging time measuring circuit 6 respectively measure the charging voltage and charging time and an installation time measuring circuit and a temperature measuring circuit 8 respectively measure the time elapsed after an electricity storing system is installed and the temperature. A temperature correcting circuit 10 fetches these measured values and makes correction at each time, based on Zi=Ci.ti (where Zi, Ci, and ti respectively represent the corrected number of charging times in a division I, a correction factor, and number of charging times). A comparing and discriminating circuit 11 compares the corrected charging time and installation time with preset comparative values, and when they are larger than the comparative values, causes the charging voltage to be raised to the voltage value preset by means of a constant charging voltage setting circuit 12. At the same time, the circuit 11 changes the comparative constant voltage of a constant charging voltage comparison circuit 9 to the value which is set after being raised.
