摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a wide visual field angle equivalent to or wider than that of the conventional structure possible to be compatible with a high display grade free from coloring and blurring in characters, by successively laminating a single refraction layer, polarizing plate and diffusion layer on a front substrate. SOLUTION: A counter electrode 6 consisting of a transparent electrode material, such as ITO, and an alignment layer 7 are formed over the entire part of the inside surface of the front substrate 1 consisting of a glass substrate and a TN liquid crystal 8 is sealed between the front substrate 1 and a rear substrate 2. The single refraction layer 9, aλ/4 phase difference plate 10, the linear polarizing plate 11 and a multiple refraction layer 12 are successively laminated on the outside surface of the front substrate 1. The required visual field angle is obtd. by the total scatterability of the single refraction layer 9 and the multiple refraction layer 12. In addition, the refractability of the multiple refraction layer 12 is confined within the range where the blurring does not occur in the characters and the refractability of the single refraction layer 9 is confined within the range where the coloring does not occur, by which the liquid crystal display device having the wide visual field angle and the high display grade can be obtd.
