PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an excellent error rate characteristic by updating a tap coefficient in response to a change in a frequency of a frequency selective fading. SOLUTION: A digital subtractor 113 outputs an error signal and a digital subtractor 115 subtracts a threshold value t1 from the error signal. A discrimination device 116 discriminates whether or not the error signal is greater than the threshold value t1 and controls a changeover switch 117 based on the result of discrimination. Furthermore, a control signal c2 controls the changeover switch 118 so that a coefficient update section 114 receives a different correction coefficient for a period when the correction coefficient is fixed or a period when the correction coefficient is changed adaptively.
