[Also in Division A4] When the nozzle 32 of a liquid fuel dispenser is removed from its support it displaces a detent 23 to free a piston rod 9. The piston 7 is then driven downwards by a compression spring 15, liquid passing from the lower to the upper side of the piston through port 18 which is now open. When the piston reaches the bottom it operates a lever 36 to zeroize the usual register 29, and starts a motor 27 to drive a dispensing pump 26. The pump also drives fuel through non-return valve 4 into cylinder 1 to lift the piston until it latches in original position, at which time the part 18 is closed by a compressible plastics cylinder 16. |
