DEVICE AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING IRON ION CONCENTRATION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method for controlling the concentration of iron ions that can automatically control the concentration of ion ions in the cooling sea water in a cooling facility equipped with a condenser and a heat exchanger without troubling a worker to obtain a desired concentration at all times. SOLUTION: An all-iron analyzer 11 detects and analyzes the concentration of iron ions in a cooling sea water used for the heat exchange of a cooling facility. An arithmetic unit 12 compares the detected and analyzed concentration of iron ions with a desired concentration of them that has been set beforehand and computes an electrolytic current value that is fed to an electrolytic bath 7 so that the deviation from the desired concentration of iron ions can lessen. A rectifier gate unit 18 outputs the electrolytic current to the electrolytic bath 7 on the basis of the computed electrolytic current value. Consequently, the concentration of iron ions in the cooling sea water can be automatically controlled at all times to obtain a desired concentration.
