PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electron emission element with less degradation with the passage of time of electron emission characteristics. SOLUTION: This electron emission element has a conductive film 4 having an electron emission part 5, between element electrodes 2, 3 and the conductive film 4 is covered with a tungsten film 6 deposited on a tungsten metal core selectively formed on the conductive film 4. The electron emission element with electron emission characteristics of high electron emission efficiency and high stability with the passage of time is manufactured with high reproducibility.
