PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for returning a retrieval result to reconstruct the retrieval result in a database management system and to return the retrieval result while holding its structure, and a recording medium in which a retrieval result returning program has been recorded. SOLUTION: The retrieval result with structure is formed and returned to an application in a form with structure by executing a retrieval processing for a retrieval request 20 from the application 10 to data with structure in the database management system 30 to manage the data with structure between pieces of the data and reconstructing the structure formed between original pieces of the data from a group of data to be obtained as the retrieval result.
