PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To disperse the load of process by equipping a print job with a function for calculating its print charge instead of making a print server calculate print charges by print jobs. SOLUTION: The print server 2 is connected to a terminal device 1 such as a computer and a word processor through a network 4 and equipped with a means which receives a print job sent from the terminal device 1 and a means which distributes the print job to proper image output devices 3 (3a to 3c) according to print conditions included in the received print job. This print server 2 has a means for holding charging management information regarding the image output devices 3 (3a to 3c), and calculates print charges according to the charging management information that the server has and the print conditions when the print job is transmitted to the print server, thereby selecting a low-charge image output device.
