[Also in Division C5] An oligomerisation catalyst comprises a sulphided cobalt or nickel compound on an Al 2 O 3 -containing support which may be treated with an alkyl aluminium halide or a trialkyl aluminium. Suitable Co and Ni compounds for preparing the catalysts are the halides, NiO, and cobalt acetylacetonate. A Co catalyst may contain up to 5%w sulphur and a Ni catalyst up to 20%w sulphur. |
