PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrain deterioration of a latent image for a long period to attain high resolution in electrophotography using a photoreceptor having a charge transporting layer film thickness nearly same to that in the prior art. SOLUTION: In an image forming method using a laser beam scanning optical system in an electrophotographic photoreceptor having a charge generating layer and a charge transporting layer, a condition of an expression (1) Vc/ Vo<=0.92.logS-0.015.L-0.2 is set, where Vc is contrast potential (V), Vo is an initial charge potential (V), S is a laser beam diameter (μm), and L is a charge carrying layer film thickness (μm), and a photoreceptor formed with a material satisfying a condition of an expression (2) D/μ<10, where μ is mobility of a charge carrier (cm2/Vs), and D is a diffusion constant (cm2/s), in 1.0×105V/cm of impressed electric field, or a material having 4.0 or less of spacial disorder parameter Σ of the charge transporting layer and having 5.0 or less of its energetic disorder parameter σ/300 K at 300 K of absolute temperature is used for the charge carrying layer. By this manner, deterioration of a latent image is restrained to reproduce a highly fine image having high density and high precise resolution. |
