PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable terminal equipment which smoothly and comfortably realizes a call without operating a key operation when an earphone microphone is inserted/extracted at the time of using it. SOLUTION: An off-hook detection signal generation device for earphone microphone 7, which generates an off-hook detection signal by inserting an earphone microphone into an earphone microphone connection part 21, an on- hook detection signal generation device for earphone microphone 8, which generates an on-hook detection signal by extracting the earphone microphone, an off-hook/on-hook detection signal selection device 10 selecting the off-hook detection signal, the on-hook detection signal or the off-hook detection signal or the on-hook detection signal generated by the operation of a key and outputting it and a line control part 14 receiving the off-hook detection signal or the on-hook detection signal and executing off-hooking or on-hooking are provided. Then, off-hooking or on-hooking is automatically executed by inserting/extracting the earphone microphone.
