PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image recording device and method capable of executing high-density printing with no blank parts between picture elements printed on a recording medium. SOLUTION: In the image recording device provided with a porous photoreceptor 100 which is constituted in such a manner that a translucent conductive layer 2 and a photoconductive layer 3 are arranged at an equal interval on a translucent substrate 1 and provided with a porous layer 4 having plural holes and a counter electrode 8 being away from the porous photoreceptor 100 and facing it across the recording medium 7, the porous photoreceptor 100 is driven in accordance with the picture elements, so that each picture element on the recording medium is formed with conductive coloring particles 6 successively fly off the plural holes of the porous photoreceptor 100.
