PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device which fixes, irrespective of the temperature and humidity of an installation environment, the ratio of toner transferred to a recording medium and obtains a stable image. SOLUTION: Just on the back of the position where a transfer action takes place to the recording medium 5 which interposing it between an intermediate transfer belt 1 and a transfer roller 3, to a paper transfer opposite-roller 2 a voltage having the same polarity as that of a toner image is applied. The volume resistivity of the intermediate transfer belt 1 is selected to as to prevent the outflow of charges applied to the intermediate transfer belt 1 and the inflow of charges and other used of the transfer of the toner image to the intermediate transfer belt 1 from a latent-image carrier. By applying a fixed amount of current the intermediate transfer belt 1, a fixed amount of current flowing from the intermediate transfer belt 1 to the recording medium 5 is obtained as it is, therefore sufficient transfer-ratio can always be obtained without being after by the resistance of the recording medium 5 and the image on the recording medium 5 becomes stable. The amount of current that a constant-current power source 4 delivers is made different so as to be optimum according to the width and kind of the recording.
