PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To preclude or suppress generation of maximum likelihood decoding errors caused by the fluctuation of signals made the object of viterbi decoding. SOLUTION: An AMB(Adjust Monitor Block) block 102 is supplied with the A/D conversion value Z[K] of reproduction RF signals through a shift register 100 and detects instantaneous fluctuations or the like in the reproduced RF signals due to the disturbance of double refractivity or the like for instance based on the Z[K]. Then, corresponding to a detected result, the signal relating to correction to be executed to an amplitude reference value which is one of the operation parameters of a viterbi decoder 130 is supplied to an RAA (Reference Amplitude Adaptive) block 101. The RAA block 101 corrects the amplitude reference value corresponding to the signal generated by the AMB block 102 in addition to the adaptation of the amplitude reference value. Thus, the fluctuation of the reproduced RF signals which can not be sufficiently followed up by the adaption of the amplitude reference value or the like can be followed up.
