PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a picture display device capable of expanding a video signal so as to meet the resolution of a display panel without lowering the contrast. SOLUTION: Relating to a picture display device having a display panel in which a prescribed number of horizontal and vertical pixels is set, in the case that the horizontal pixels of the display panel is larger than those of the video signals in numbers, each of the original video data is stored as it is, at the data assignment position having a correlation closest to each of the plural pieces of the original video data A, B, C, D, E that form a horizontal pixel line of the video signals, in an interpolation data calculation forming circuit. Simultaneously, at the assignment position of the remaining interpolation data, the calculation results x, y, z are stored which are obtained from the two original video data stored at the assignment position adjacent to that of the remaining interpolating data. |
