PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device which requires only small memory capacity and can shorten the time for the generation of parameters and form the best images for respective recording forms by precisely performing paper white correcting processes by the recording forms. SOLUTION: Sheets of white paper of both a dedicated form and a recording form where an image is formed are read by an image input part 1 in advance and color differences in the L*a*b* color space which does not depend upon a device are found and stored. Further, a correction coefficient K is determined according to the relation between lightness L* and the color differences. The image is read by the image input part 1 and converted into the L*a*b* color space by an input color conversion part 3. A paper color correction part 4 performs simple operation by using the stored color differences and correction coefficient K to perform paper color correction along a lightness axis. Then an output color conversion part 5 performs conversion to the YMCK color space depending upon the image formation part 9, which forms the image on the recording paper sheet.
