PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make practical an automatic measuring system for transmitting and receiving a signal between a controller and a measuring device by radio, and for using a battery as the operating power sources of those equipments by fulfilling the control of a time from an instruction to a response by returning virtual response data to a controller. SOLUTION: A controller A line-connected with a central processing center and a metering device B for operating the measurement signal processing of a sensor are respectively provided with intermittent radio communication equipments A' and B' having a synchronous timer 63. A virtual response 7 is provided with virtual response memories 11 and 12, virtual response transmitting means 13 and 5, and virtual response data updating means 2, and when the controller A transmits an instruction to the metering device B, the virtual response data of the virtual response memories 11 and 12 are returned to the controller A, and the instruction is applied to a radio communicating part 6 as transmission data in the next time communication timing. Then, the control side intermittent radio communication equipment A' updates the virtual response data of the virtual response memory 12 according to a signal received suitably from the measurement side intermittent radio communication equipment B'.
