摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate a write insufficiency and to improve the image display quality by making the horizontal write time of a gate shorter than heretofore concerning scanning lines not inverted in polarity and utilizing the resulted excess time and blanking period for extension of the write time of a highlighting drive at the time of polarity inversion. SOLUTION: The excess timeαper frame is obtd. by making the write time Tgate-on of respective lines shorter than heretofore (a). Namely, the excess timeαis added to the perpendicular blanking period B. The perpendicular blanking period B and the excess timeαare used for extension of the write time Tgate-on/reverse at the time of the polarity inversion (b). Namely, the write time Tgate-on is made shorter and is added as the additional timeαto the write time at the time of the polarity inversion, by which the response timeτON, OFF<Tgate-on in liquid crystals is embodied and the write time insufficiency at the time of the polarity inversion is eliminated. Further, the shortening of a polarity inversion period Treverse, i.e., an increase of polarity inversion times is made possible (c).
