PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication equipment which can select by which device the detection sequence of a calling side telephone number is to be executed and can previously prevent malfunction and detection impossibility at the time of connecting the communication equipment having a function of detecting a plurality of calling side telephone numbers to one telephone line. SOLUTION: A function for previously selecting whether the detection sequence of a caller telephone number is to be executed by using an outer communication equipment or the detection sequence of the caller telephone number is to be executed by using the communication equipment is provided. The detection sequence of the caller telephone number is executed by outer communication equipment or the communication equipment based on the selection. Thus, the appropriate matching of a line impedance can easily be obtained and caller telephone number notice service can efficiently be received. Then, the detection sequence of the caller telephone number by the outer communication equipment from the communication equipment is monitored and therefore the caller telephone number can be detected/displayed even in the communication equipment.
