PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the reliability of a device by providing a shutter plate filling the opening part of the cover of an optical pickup to prevent foreign matter such as waste and dust, from sticking on an objective lens with a simple structure without necessitating a driving means. SOLUTION: When the power source of a device 1 is turned off, an optical pickup 4 moves to the outside of the outer periphery of an optical disk 2 and the shutter plate 13 erected on a chassis 6 runs onto the cover 10 of the pickup 4 at the outside of the outer periphery to fill the opening part 9 of the cover while sliding over the cover. The shutter plate 13 is formed with the thin plate of metal or synthetic resin and one part of it is made to be the plate of a rectangular shape which is parallel with the disk 2 and is extendedly provided to the side of the pickup 4. At this time, the shutter plate 13 is pressurized on the upper surface of the cover 10 by an elastic member 15 to closely cover the opening part 9 of the cover 10. Moreover, an objective lens 8 is positioned and constituted so as not to be in contact with the shutter plate 13. Thus, even when the device is in a nonuse state for a long time, foreign matter is prevented from sticking on the objective lens 8. |
