SEALANT FOR LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY ELEMENT AND LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY ELEMENT USING THEREOF

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a sealant having flexibility capable of following a film bend and excellent in chemical resistance by contg. at least one kind of an alkoxy group free epoxy resin which is excellent in at least heat resistance and chemical resistance as an epoxy component. SOLUTION: A liq. epoxy resin at an ambient temp. and an amine having an alkylene glycol group as a curing agent are contained. As the liq. epoxy resin at the ambient temp., a bisphenol type epoxy resin, a glycidyl amine type epoxy resin and an alicyclic type epoxy resin are listed as a material excellent in heat resistance and liq. crystal resistance even further among them. A sealant for liq. crystal display having the both of liq. crystal resistance and adhesiveness can be obtained by combining these epoxy resins and the amine contg. the alkylene glycol group as the curing agent. A curing catalyst for shortening a curing time and/or lowering a curing temp. can be added to the obtained sealant.
