PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a user to easily change print conditions and confirm image data on a printer by making it easy to confirm print conditions given by a host on the printer. SOLUTION: This printer is equipped with a liquid crystal panel 4 which displays print conditions and an image and to which alterations of the print conditions and an image formation instruction are inputted, a controller 2 which receives, analyzes, and processes a print command from a host 3 connected by a communication cable and which generates and develops print conditions and print image data in a memory 10 and which also displays the print conditions and image on the liquid crystal panel 4 to change the print conditions according to input thereto, and a printer engine 13 which forms an image that the print image data represent on a sheet under the print conditions in the memory 10 in response to the image formation command from the controller 2.
