<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an operator from moving his or her finger up to a scroll area by mistake while a pointing area is used and to enable the operator to discriminate an area which is being traced without looking at the touch pad by providing ribs on the top surface of the touch pad on the border lines between an area where a 1st function is indicated and an area where a 2nd function is indicated. SOLUTION: An insulating film positioned at the top part of the touch pad 4 is formed of, for example, polyethylene terephthalate resin. On the top surface of the insulating film, 1st and 2nd ribs 9 and 10 which extend along the base and right side of the touch pad 5 are provided on the border lines among areas 6, 7 and 8 respectively. In this case, the touch pad 5 has the ribs 9 and 10 on the borders between the pointing area 8 and scroll areas 6 and 7 and the ribs 9 and 10 impede the movement of the finger of the user if the user tries to move the finger up to the scroll areas 6 and 7 while performing operation on the pointing area 8.</p> |
