PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a standby power supply unit having two systems of standby power supply circuits each of which consumes a small amount of power when it is in its standby state. SOLUTION: A standby power supply unit has a first standby power circuit wherein the rippled DC output voltage of a full-wave rectifier circuit 12 is filtered to output a first DC voltage, and a second standby power supply circuit having a transistor 7 wherein applying to its collector the rippled DC output voltage of a bridge rectifier circuit 3, its base is grounded via a Zener diode 9 to output a second DC voltage from its emitter.
