PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a conversion table for color conversion from increasing in size when seven-color ink including three colors (c), (m), and (y) of high density plus four colors C, M, Y, and K is used for a color ink jet printer. SOLUTION: A compressed data buffer 100 stores the compressed conversion table data obtained by compressing grating point data of a conversion table wherein image data are arrayed by respective constituting color components. A data restoration part 101 expands the compressed conversion table data, and a color converting process part 103 performs a color converting process for input image data through an interpolative arithmetic process based upon the expanded conversion table data.
