PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a beam index display device capable of performing a stable color changeover processing inside respective screen display areas without being affected by the other screen display area and improving display quality even in the case of constituting one CRT screen by the plural divided screen display areas. SOLUTION: Since an index start detection part 12 for detecting that beam scanning enters the respective screen display areas based on received and detected intra-display-area index signals and an initial color setting part 14 for setting an initial color to be displayed in the respective screen display areas beforehand are provided and timing control for generating color changeover timing signals and the color changeover processing of input video signals (R, G and B) are performed, the start points of the respective screen display areas are detected, a start color in the display video image of the respective screen display areas can be set and the color changeover processing of the video display of the respective screen display areas is stably performed.
