Bitumen emulsions consist of 50-70 wt.% bitumen, 0.5-10 wt.% surfactant, 0-5 wt.% thickener, 0-1 wt.% antifoaming agent and water; the surfactant comprising a copolymer of ethylene oxide and propylene oxide in the ratio 1.5 - 10, ethoxyl and/or propoxyl epoxide and high molecular mass polyvinyl alcohol. Independent claims are also included for (1) a method for preparing the emulsion; and (2) compositions comprising hydraulic or organic binder and/or mineral or organic filler which contain the emulsion.
