PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make selectable a printer which has the earliest print end time and to make startable the printing operation in consideration of a specified print end time. SOLUTION: A host computer when receiving print data from a user terminal (s31) temporarily stores the print data (s32), calculates the print process times of respective printers from the amount of the print data and the printing speed of the printers (s33), and sends a print command to all the printers (s34) to expect response data sent from the printers (s35). The print process time is read out of response data sent from a printer (s36) and the print process time is added to the print start time to calculate print end time (s37). A CPU selects the printer having the earliest print end time and sends the print data to the selected printer (s38).
