PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the distortion of an output signal waveform at a current- voltage converting/amplifying circuit which amplifies the output of a photo-diode. SOLUTION: The saturation in amplification operation of a circuit is detected with an output voltage detecting circuit 10. A MOSFET 5 is turned on responding to the saturation detection so that a drain current of a MOSFET 2 is limited for changing/controlling an amplification factor. Thus, with a circuit configuration for adjusting an amplification factor, a load of output current of a photo-diode 1 is not affected, resulting in reduced caused for distortion of waveform of an output signal.
