PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the image forming method which is capable of preventing the splashing of toner on an intermediate transfer body, maintaining transferability at endurance, a retransfer, etc. SOLUTION: In this image forming method, respective developing units of yellow, magenta, cyan and black 81, 82, 83 and 7 are provided, an electrostatic charge image is turned into a toner image with each developer, on an electrostatic charge image carrier by a reversal developing method and the toner image formed on the electrostatic charge image carrier 3 is transferred to an intermediate transfer body 2. Then, the toner image on the intermediate transfer body is transferred onto a recording material P and fixed by a thermal pressure fixing method. In the transfer of the toner image to the intermediate transfer body from the surface of the electrostatic charge image carrier, when the absolute values of the transfer voltages of the first and second toner images are defined as V1 and V2 respectively, the. V1 and V2 satisfy the following conditions; V1<V2 and V2-V1=50 to 500 V. In toner, an externally added grain whose single electrifiability is 0±10 mC/kg is externally added to the surface of a toner grain. |
