PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a digital 1 link in an integrated network by realizing a function of selecting a voice CODEC, based on a connected path of an opposite side narrow band network for an ATM-WAN node. SOLUTION: An AWN5(#1) extracts a destination PBX node number from incoming address information included in a SETUP message of an N-ISDN from a PBX1, decides a kind of a voice CODEC corresponding to the PBX node number and selects any of the voice CODECs (C1-C3) corresponding to the kind. An AWN5(#2) extracts a destination PBX node number from incoming address information included in a SETUP message of an N-ISDN from the AWN5(#1), decides a kind of a voice CODEC corresponding to the PBX node number and selects any of the voice CODECs (C1-C3) corresponding to the kind. Thus, a voice CODEC corresponding to a destination path is selected and digital 1 link connection is realized.
