PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically cipher only plural data from a head in transmission data after establishing a logical communication path, to reduce a ciphering processing and setting work and to prevent the decline in the transfer rate. SOLUTION: Data ciphering/deciphering communication equipments 3 and 4 are connected by the communication path between host devices 1 and 2 in a computer communication network. The data ciphering/deciphering communication equipments 3 and 4 cipher the plural data including a password from the head of the transmission data corresponding to a counted value in a counter 5 for ciphering after establishing the logical communication path at the time of transmission. Further, the data other than the plural data from the head are non-ciphered and the transmission data are transmitted to another data processor. At the time of reception, based on the counted value in the counter 6 for deciphering, the plural ciphered data from the head in the received transmission data are deciphered.
