<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a combination and a utilization method of the advantages of a battery and an HEDC(high energy density capacitor) power source. SOLUTION: A method for operating a satellite communication terminal for transmitting one of digital voice or a data signal in a frame cycle is composed of a step (a) for providing the battery 102, the HEDC 101 and a hybrid power source constituted of a switching circuit for selectively connecting one or both in the terminal, the step (b) for storing prescribed threshold values including a data rate threshold value and a transmitter power level threshold value, the step (c) for comparing a transmission rate to be used in the next frame cycle with at least one of the stored data rate threshold value and power level threshold value and the step (d) for controlling the switching circuit 104 and selecting one or both of the battery and the HEDC 101 connected to the output of a power source in response to the comparison.</p> |
