PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic zoom device which obtains a more satisfactory image than a conventional electronic zoom device by making the frequency response characteristic of an image as flat as possible at the time of zooming a video signal. SOLUTION: When interpolation is performed with an interpolation coefficient zero, an interpolation operation is performed with an interpolation coefficient that is different from a normal one based on data of an area which is wider than input data that becomes an object of a normal interpolation operation and data is outputted. For instance, at the time of obtaining Z7, Z7=1/6×A5+4/6×A6+1/6×A7 is calculated by setting a coefficient for A5 to 1/6, a coefficient for A6 to 4/6 and a coefficient for A7 to 1/6. Because a compensating operation is performed from the three pieces of data A5 to A7 in a sequential order in this way, the frequency response characteristic of Z7 decreases and therefore, it is possible to reduce fluctuation to other output data and to make the frequency response characteristic as flat as possible. |
