PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a browsing system to effectively browse a hypertext. SOLUTION: The browsing system is constituted for browsing the hypertext by being displayed on a display, is provided with a hypertext analyzing means 14 and a hierarchical structure storage means 15, and a link is extracted by defining a processing object from the hypertext as a displaying object to the hypertext which is linked in the front direction by specified retrieval hierarchy, data of the hypertext in the front direction which is specified by the link is acquired, hierarchical structure data consisting of the link are generated by the hypertext analyzing means 14 and the hierarchical structure data are stored by the hierarchical structure storage means 15.
