OPTICAL CONNECTOR PLUG

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical connector plug which has a protective structure for optical fibers and facilitates the alignment of the plug to an adapter or receptacle (optical fibers and aligning member) and is low in cost. SOLUTION: A fig. (a) shows the state (initial state) before fitting of the plug 1 to the adapter or receptacle. The aligning member 3 aligns the many optical fibers 4A constituting the optical fiber 4 in parallel and is disposed slidably in the outer block member 2. A torsional coil spring 5 presses the aligning member to slightly project its one end 3B from the one end face of the outer block member 2. When the member on the adapter or receptacle side pushes the aligning member into the outer block member 2 as shown in Fig. (b), the respective optical fibers are projected from the one end face of the aligning member. The one-side end faces of the respective optical fibers face the one-side end faces of the respective other optical fibers within the respective microsleeves of the adapter or receptacle.
