FIELD: making multistart helical surfaces with variable pitch and constant depth. SUBSTANCE: apparatus includes axle with indexing disc rigidly secured to it and having openings, lever, tuning link, endless flexible rope, angular rollers, tension roller. Tuning link is in the form of cone drum with screw thread. Tension roller is provided with spring compensator. Apparatus may be mounted in universal horizontal milling machine tool with disc milling cutter as tool. EFFECT: simplified kinematics at shaping blank, enhanced efficiency of process due to use of multiedge tool. 3 dwg
