<p>A detergent comprises (1) 0.005-4% wt. of an enzyme, active in alkaline media and containing no sulphydiyl groups or disulphide bonds e.g. proteases and anylases (2) 5-30% wt. of a per compound e.g. sodium perborate (3) a corrosion inhibition and water soluble alkali silicate, in a concentration sufficient to provide 0-4% SiO2, e.g. sodium tripolyphosphate-silicate. (4) 30-90% mixture of a salt e.g. sodium nitrilo-triacetate and/or sodium tripolyphosphate, and an organic detergent e.g. soap, and preferably sodium or potassium salts of C12-22 fatty acids, the ratio of salt to detergent being 0.4:1 to 30:1. (5) 5-50% salt buffer to maintain the pH of the water (0.1% wt. mixture) at 8.5-9.4 (or 8.5-9.8 when silicate is present), e.g. the HCO3, borax or sodium pyrophosphate.</p> |
