The method involves performing a wireless communication between one or several transceiver units arranged in the motor vehicle, and a mobile ID transmitter to determine an access right of a person carrying the transmitter. One or several characteristics of a carrier medium are changed during the transmission of a data telegram between a transceiver unit and the mobile ID transmitter, according to a predetermined protocol, respectively known to the receiving unit.
