The four quadrant operation with average to high voltages has a three phase supply provided by the secondary windings (UR,US,UT) of a transformer. The stray inductance of these secondary windings (L) combine with high frequency capacitors(C) to form filters in a star or delta form. Three switches (S), which may be bidirectional semiconductor elements, provide connection to an output point.
