A mobile vertical cutter (10) for making vertical cuts in the turf includes a plurality of spindles (12) having a plurality of blades radially extending therefrom. The spindles are arranged into at least a first row (18) and a second row (20) off set from the first row. A drive mechanism (14) is provided for rotating the spindles. The bladed spindles and drive mechanism are mounted on a mobile frame (16). Each spindle is adapted to follow the contours of the turf as the mobile vertical cutter travels along. |
