The obstruction detector has input from a number of ultrasonic transmitter/receiver units (16-19) that are positioned around the vehicle. The reflected signals are transmitted to a CPU (20) to compute the distance. Data is stored in a distance table (23) and this is read and provided as output to a liquid crystal display (27).
