A bottle of sparkling wine has a neck and a cork closure. The cork is secured by a wire harness (7) which wraps around the bottle neck. The bottle neck has a secondary wire noose (10). Four lengths of wire (15) link the noose to the wire basket around the cork. When the basket is loosened from the neck, the distance traveled by the released cork (2) is limited by the wire straps.
