摘要 The bearing assembly (10) includes a bearing carriage (14) having a plurality of spaced bearing races and a manifold (16) secured to at least one end of the bearing carriage (14) having a plurality of spaced bearing surfaces (34-37). Each manifold bearing surface (34a-37a) is aligned with one of the carriage bearing races and includes a bearing compensator (38) including a collector and a supply groove. A plurality of compensation channels (24, 26, 28, 30) are formed in the manifold (16). Each compensation channel (24-30) includes a first end in communication with a collector (40) and a second end in communication with one of four longitudinal passages extending at least partially through the bearing carriage (14). Each longitudinal passage communicates with a pocket formed on one of the carriage bearing races (3437). When pressurized hydrostatic fluid is supplied to the supply grooves (42) of the bearing manifold (16), the hydrostatic fluid flows from the supply grooves (42) across a gap defined between the manifold bearing surface (34a37a) and a support rail (12) into a collector (42) where it is directed into a compensation channel (26). The hydrostatic fluid in the compensation channels (26) is supplied to one of the longitudinal passages (54a-d) formed in the bearing carriage where it is directed to a pocket formed in a respective bearing race of the bearing carriage (14). The compensation channels (26) are configured to direct fluid from a bearing surface of the manifold (16) to a diametrically opposite bearing race (34-37) of the bearing carriage (14) to compensate for loading of the bearing carriage (14).
