METHOD OF MANUFACTURING OF AUTOMOBILE FUEL TANK

FIELD: automotive industry. SUBSTANCE: two semi-housings of fuel tank are made of sheet of low-carbon steel with aluminium-based coating. Layer of intermetallic compound is formed at application of coating. Two semi-housing are connected by resistance seam roller welding over tank perimeter. Fittings are connected to tank by-gas shields arc welding with stainless steel consumable electrode. Stainless steel pipe or pipe with aliminium-based coating can be used as fittings. Painting of seams in zone of resistance seam welding of semi-housings can be carried out immediately after welding. EFFECT: increased service life of fuel tank. 3 cl
