Device comprises a housing in the form of a brimmed hat containing an arrangement of integrated and installed electronic circuits and switches which emit a detection signal radially over 360 degrees to detect any close objects, to determine whether they are living or inert objects and to evaluate if they represent a hazard to the wearer. A loud noise is then generated into the two ear-pieces which is projected so that it comes from the angle at which the object is positioned and the tone or loudness of the noise is proportional to how close the object is. Typically the sensors used are of the infrared type.
