摘要 |
A method of making a sec. Li ion cell comprises positioning a reversible Li-intercalatable carbon anode (28) and Li-intercalatable cathode (30) with a non-aq. Li ion-conducting electrolyte (26) between them with the carbon having been previously heated in the presence of oxygen to oxidise, gasify and remove those highly reactive C atoms which would otherwise decompose the electrolyte and/or entrap Li. Also claimed is the cell made above, which is stoichiometrically balanced and has a polymer electrolyte, with the cathode and anode having matched intercalating abilities and with the carbon being unreactive to Li and electrolyte during the first cell cycle. |
