<p>Concentric with a shaft are an element rotationally fast to it, e.g. an axle cone or arm or suspension arm, and an element which turns around the shaft, such as a shaft and/or a hub, integral with the wheel. The two elements mutually contact via at least a pair of cylindrical mounts which support radial loads and at least two pairs of radial annular mounts which respectively support opposite axial loads. One mount of each pair is coated with a plastic film, e.g. PTFE based, with a very low friction coeff. against metal, and one is a thin metal journal bearing resting on a thick elastic elastomeric cushion.</p> |
