Novel compounds (I) (including salts thereof) wherein R 1 and R 2 may be the same or different and each represents a saturated or unsaturated aliphatic hydrocarbon radical containing 1 to 4 carbons or a cycloaliphatic or aromatic radical or an alkyl radical substituted by one or more heterocyclic or aromatic groups and R 3 and R 4 may be the same or different and each represents a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group containing 1 to 4 carbons, are prepared by reacting N-carbonylsulphamic acid chloride, O = C = N-SO 2 Cl, with a 6-amino-R 1 ,R 2 -substituted uracil and subsequently reacting the intermediate 6 - amino - R 1 ,R 2 - uracil - 5 - carbonamido-N-sulphochloride (i.e. the group -CONH. SO 2 Cl at the 5-position) so obtained with ammonia or the appropriate amine, HNR 3 R 4 . Pharmaceutical preparations having diuretic and carboanhydrase-inhibiting properties contain as active ingredient compounds (I); administration may be orally or parenterally. |
